After determining your publishing choice, we will help you decide what type of book is best suited for your end product—softcover (perfect bound) book vs. hardcover with stamped title, hard cover book with dust jacket, laminated book, or ebook. Then, taking your budget into consideration, we will help you choose the best printing, binding and distribution vendors for your particular project. We are familiar with the guidelines for short-run printers and binders and with popular print-on-demand (POD) printers such as Lightening Source and CreateSpace. We will design your book to meet the specifications required by the vendor of your choice.
CREATING YOUR SPECIAL BOOK
If you feel photos and documents will compliment your story, we will help you choose those, create an appropriate book design and layout, then work with you to refine it until it meets your needs. We are expert at retouching old family photos. For details visit our photo restoration page.
The interior of your book will include a half-title page, title page, copyright page, table of contents, front matter sections (dedication, acknowledgments, etc.) chapter headings, chapter layouts, page number placements, headers or footers, and back matter sections such as index or About the Author page.
Creating layouts for fiction, text-only memoirs, or other lightly formatted books is much simpler than it is for books with complicated layouts with a high-ratio of images to text. Prices for our interior layouts start at $3.00 per page for simple text-only manuscripts. More complex layouts including photos, illustrations and other images are priced individually.
